Good Times...

Awwwww... it's a sad day at the Smith's household. Grandmommie/Momma went back home to Atlanta today. We have such a good time when she visits and this time was NO EXCEPTION. We shared lots of laughter, old stories(remember when...) and long nights just talking. I wish I could just clone her and keep her with us all the time!

She was such a trooper when I would beg her to go outside to let me practice taking pictures. Here are a few:

LOVE YOU MOM...and THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

Happy Father's Day...

to Melvin and all the fathers! I'm truly blessed to have such a wonderful husband who is also a GREAT father and PaaawwwwPA(as Nicholas says)!! I hope all the fathers were able to either spend time with their kids or at least talk to them.

Melvin spent a part of his day with me taking pictures of him...check him out!!!

We spent most of the day with Beth, Lederic and Nicholas. So they had to get in on the pictures as well.

Houston... We have ourselves a SWIMMER!!!

Nicholas has been taking swim lessons for the past several weeks. He is one of the best in his class of kids ages 6 months - 24 months.

He started with the basics...kicking

and blowing bubbles!

It wasn't long before he was practicing his backstroke(almost)!

Then...under the water he went...(Why is Beth holding her breath?)!

YAY!!!!

He loved getting a duck each week. This week he got two ducks...

...so he could share one with YOU!!!

Look at him- all alone!

GREAT JOB NICHOLAS!

America's Next Top Model....

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of taking pictures of America's Next Top Model!!! Gabby had one of two of her dance recitals on Saturday. She and her friend had a great time running around outside...I could hardly keep up with her, but I did manage to get a few pictures.

Take a look...

Thanks Gabby for allowing me to be a part of your big day!

Big Boy

How long did you think it would take me to post a picture of Nicholas?! I would love to post his picture everyday, but as soon as he sees I have my camera, he instantly want to become the photographer! He loves to look through the lens and also see a picture of himself on the LCD screen, so I get no where with him.

But Saturday, he was having so much fun with the big boys that he didn't care that I had my camera.

Here's one of him on the playground.

Lil Daryl

On Saturday, Teresa and her family visited us. We had lots of fun and enjoyed spending time with them. Lil Daryl and his friend entertained themselves by playing Guitar Hero and Wii games, before going to Beth and Lederic's house.
Nicholas had a ball playing with the older boys. He thought he could do everything they did.

Of course, I couldn't let them leave before getting some pictures. Here's one of Lil Daryl and one of his friend.

I'll share more later.

After the Storm...

On Friday, May 30, the eastside of Indianapolis was hit with a tornado. The tornado touched down about a mile from where I live. Many families were left homeless after the storm tore the roof off their homes, uprooted trees and landed them on top of buildings and apartments, and gas pumps were literally tossed across the street. This is the second time in 6 years this area has been hit by a tornado. The last time was in 2002.
My mom and I were at home, while Melvin was still at work and Tre went to a classmate's open house. Thankfully, we were not hurt nor was there any damage to our house. However, that wasn't the case with our car. After the storm passed, Tre was on his way home and drove into what he thought was a small puddle of water, but in fact was a pool of water, in the street. Water entered the car and flooded it. He was able to get out and return to his friends house, but not before calling me with fear in his voice. He said the water was up to his knees.
His friend's father was able to push the car out of the water and brought Tre home. On Saturday, the car would not start at all, but we managed to get it started on Sunday. Melvin used the shop vac to get some of the water out before taking it to the mechanic.
Tonight, my mom and I drove through one of the areas that was hit hard so I could get a few pictures(after Cornelius called to tell me I should go see it). The were several police officers partolling the area, so I didn't get many pictures, but here are a few

Just a week ago my Mom, Granny and I were here...look at it now.

This is the shop vac that we used to get all the water out of the car!

Please keep thosed affected by the storm in your prayers.

Congratulations Tre!!

On May 24, Tre graduated from Lawrence North High School. Many thanks to all those that supported him throughout his life; either by your prayers, good wishes and/or support. div>
We held an open house last Sunday for him. Thanks to all those that were able to attend the open house and a special thanks to my Mom, Granny, Keith, Roy and Carolyn for taking the time to travel here to Indianapolis to attend the graduation ceremony and/or open house.
It's a tough job for me to get pictures of Tre, but I managed to get a few in his cap and gown.

We're PROUD of you TRE!!!

Welcome!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. My goal is to provide daily(ha) updates via this blog. Of course, I will have tons of pictures to share as I progress with my photography.
